Goals

My three goals for this second semester are to work harder, make all A's, and grow closer to God.
I would like to work harder with my school and housework. I can work harder when it comes to school by focusing more on my grades and trying to bring my B's up to A's, and have any low A's up to A-pluses. I can worker harder around the house by doing my chores more and keeping my room clean.
I would like to make all A's by working harder as listed above. I can make A's by being more prepared for class, or by paying attention more in class. Also I can make A's by being on my phone and social media less, and spending more time studying. Instead of just studying for something the night before, I can study a little bit each night so that I can retain information better.
I would like to grow closer to God by reading my Bible more, being more consistent daily with my devotions, and getting more involved in my church. I could go to more Wednesday night services and get more involved in the youth activities.

The Story of Jonah

Jonah was called by God to go to Nineveh, but he fled to Tarshish in a ship.  He tried to hide from God, but God is all-knowing, and He knew where Jonah was. God stormed the waters and the other men on the boat threw Jonah into the sea, and Jonah then got swallowed by a big fish, where he spent time praying to God. After three days and three nights of being in the belly of the fish, the fish spits Jonah onto dry land. God then gave Jonah a second chance to preach His message to the evil Ninevites. Jonah obeyed God and preached His word to them. The Ninevites finally repented and turned to God.
Even though the people of Nineveh had been extremely disobedient, God still forgave them. The story of Jonah shows us two things: that hiding from God is impossible, and God is willing to forgive those who repent.
God needed to show Jonah the consequences for his disobedience.  Sometimes we try to hide from God, but He still knows where we are and he knows our heart.

The Story of Creation

In the beginning there was a Creator. The Creator’s name was God, and a glorious God he was. He decided  to display his glory by designing a beautiful world. This new world would be magnificent. Every living thing would praise his name. All would be perfect. The Creator began his work.
At first there was nothing and the earth was dark, and the creator was hovering over it. Light then begins to enter into the earth. No longer is everything dark, but now there is brightness coming from an overhead object called the sun. The first day was complete. Next, water enters. Dry land rises up from the water on the third day. God was creating the heavens and the earth. The sun, moon, and stars now become visible on the fourth day, and on the fifth day living creatures of the air and sea appear, and then the sixth day comes. God decides to make his next creation, man, in his own image. On the seventh day, the Creator sees that everything is complete, and uses the day to rest. All is perfect and the Creator is happy. It was then up to man to keep it that way…

"God's Story And My Life"

God’s story should impact the way we live our daily lives. First of all, we know from Genesis that God is the Creator. Everything around us has been made by and given to us by God. This means that we really do not own anything we have. As a result, we should be thankful for everything we have, and use what we have to display God’s glory throughout the world, in return. It is our duty as Christians to do everything we can to make God’s name known. If God has given us a special talent, we should use our talent in a way that brings glory and attention to God’s name, and not our own. 1 Corinthians 13:10 says, “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” Everything we do in our lives should glorify God because everything we have is His. Our job here on earth is to live for Him until we breathe our last breath.

God's Love

One of the best things in the world is knowing how much love God has for us. He has done so much for us that there is no reason to doubt the fact that he loves us. He sent his very own Son to die on a cross for us. While crucifixion was already a cruel death, it must have been even harder for Jesus knowing He would be dying for millions of people that rejected him, and the ones that will reject him in the future. He lived a perfect life, and still loved us enough to give up His own so that we could be free. Romans 6:8 says, “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.” The best part about this is that Christ died for us before we loved him. In other words, He died for us whether or not  we would ever love him back. He knew people would reject him and yet he still died. Now that’s true love!
God’s love is amazing, and unconditional. No matter how many times we disobey him He still loves us and cares for us just the same. Nothing can separate us from God’s love. Even Romans 8:39 says, “neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Nothing we do can keep God from giving us a second chance. He continues to love us no matter how many times we reject him. There is clearly no greater love than the love of God.
